DETAILED EXCURSION ITINERARY FOR MERZOUGA CAMEL RIDE AN 2 NIGHTS IN CAMP:
Ride a camel into the Moroccan desert camp on an 2-
CAMEL TREKS IN THE MOROCCAN DESERT DEPARTING FROM MERZOUGA
Day 1: Camel trekking to Erg Chebbi dunes and sunset in the middle of the dunes: Camel trek start in the afternoon from the Kasbah Hotel to the Bivouac Camp in the middle of the dunes to experience the desert magic.It takes 1 hour and half to the Bivouac Camps. As soon as you arrive there you will have a traditional desert welcome with a mint tea in the Berber tent where you will spend the night. Climb the dunes for sunset pictures, possibility of sand boarding, and in the evening, enjoy a Moroccan campfire dinner and drum circle before falling asleep under the stars.You will leave your main luggage for free at the Kasbah Hotel and just take a backpack for the overnight journey.
Day 2: Merzouga desert excursion: Start your adventure in a 4×4 and set out to see the different faces of desert dunes with its black volcanic rocks, passing through small villages, where you will stop to drink mint tea with a Berber family in their tent, along the road used by the Paris Dakar rally. You will then reach a cave where you can discover how the local people extract the fossils from the heart of the earth. You will stop also to listen to some Saharan Music in El Khamlia village. You will walk little bit in the oasis and then lunch will be in a typical restaurant in Rissani with great local food ( vegetarian option available ). After lunch you will visit the town of Rissani, the first capital of dynasty alouite, including some historical Kasbahs and the famous market, the Sijilmassa ruins before heading back to your hotel in the end of the afternoon.
Day 3: Sunrise and camel trekking back to the Kasbah Hotel: Early morning wake up to see the sunrise over the big sand dunes, and enjoy breakfast before heading back to the Kasbah Hotel in the village, where a room will be provided for a shower… Collection of your main luggage, end of tour.
